The SportExcel Hall of Fame is restricted to those athletics who have been in receipt of SportExcel funding and who have consistently achieved excellence at Asian or World Level while being good role models.

In 2002, the candidates who fit this bill and were inducted into the Hall of Fame were Nicol Ann David, Ong Beng Hee and Shalin Zulkifli . In 2003, it was former national hurdler Nur Herman Majid and cyclist M. Kumaresan.

It is SportExcel's hope that both Awards will inspire other athletics on its list of recipients to reach out for excellence as well.
